Thirty years ago, some 1,400 Kaiser Permanente members in Oakland began taking part in a study that has led to important findings on health disparities and the prevention of cardiovascular disease. Many of the original participants are now returning for a ninth round of exams as part of the CARDIA study, funded by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. Watch a short video to learn more.
