Study Uncovers Critical Findings on Cardiovascular Disease

The Kaiser Permanente Division of Research in Oakland is one of four CARDIA study sites.

Thirty years ago, some 1,400 Kaiser Permanente members in Oakland began taking part in a study that has led to important findings on health disparities and the prevention of cardiovascular disease. Many of the original participants are now returning for a ninth round of exams as part of the CARDIA study, funded by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. Watch a short video to learn more.
