Kaiser Permanente’s 2018 Northern California Nursing Report is now available online.
The more than 24,000 knowledgeable and dedicated Kaiser Permanente Northern California nurses represented in this report provide care in nearly every setting across the organization’s integrated health system. They are inspirational national award winners. They are our nurse practitioners dedicated to health promotion, acute and chronic disease prevention, education, and counseling to help patients improve and maintain their health. They are the nearly 600 participants in Kaiser Permanente’s Nurse Scholars Academy, which is helping nurses build on their educational advancement with 248 nurses who graduated with a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree in 2018. They are nurse researchers who published 91 publications, delivered 74 presentations, and produced 119 posters within the year. They are the professionals who dedicate themselves to the community, represent Kaiser Permanente externally, lead their fellow nurses, and change and improve care for their patients, whether by reducing caesarean rates, upping immunizations, or a score of other important, life-changing projects and contributions.
