As a leader in environmental stewardship, Kaiser Permanente is committed to the values of reducing, re-using, and recycling materials. One example of this can be seen in Hayward, where Kaiser Permanente recently gathered truckloads of medical equipment and furniture from one of its former hospitals and donated it to 13 nonprofits in the area. I am an employee for Kaiser Permanente who started working at Hayward in 2005. When we moved here to our new San Leandro site, I always wondered what happened to all the equipment and furniture! So when I looked at this video, I found out, and I must say that I am so very proud to be a part of such an awesome hospital. Great job!
I think that this is amazing that Kaiser Permanente had the means and opportunity to donate much needed furniture and equipment to other medical centers in need. This is great for the environment because we are not sending the equipment to the landfills and this is even better for the communities being served by the medical centers receiving the donations!
